Naughty emre updates..

A quick update on emre's milestones/mischevious acts :

-walking on his own before he turned 1 yr old.
-clapped his hands on his own (nobody teaches him to do that..haha..guess he copied it somewhere gua)
-go down the bed/platform/stairs by turning his bum and let his feet touch the floor or go by the front with bum wriggling till both feet touches the floor.
-noes how to pass things
-throw things all over
-understand word "naughty" and cries/throw tantrum when mommy scold him naughty..but dun do that when grandma calls him naughty (cos he noes grandma dun mean it, but mommy meant it)
-babbles "paapaapaaa" sounds like papa..not sure if it is (none of my biz), "muuumumm mum" as in food.
-squats and stand , mumbles "hmmmm" try to startle pple with this up down action.. wonder where he learnt this too..
-rather walk than to be carried when bring him downstairs/shopping/at home.
-loves snatching tissues out of the box and tearing them into pieces.
-love to eat whatever/whenever he sees us eating.
-likes to blink his eyes on purpose.
-look at mommy and wait for her to say "bless u" each time he sneezes.
-laugh when mommy sneezes.
-noes how to reach for his ears and show them when asked "where is ur ear"
-noes how to pick up horse/carrot/piggy from the pile of toys at grandma house.
-loves to "ka jiao" stray cats/dogs...
- loves to scream at mommy for story telling/open box of toys.
- scream for every of his requests.
-hate having his finger/toe nails cut.
-understands 1,2,3 or raindrops keep falling on my head means pouring water over his head, looks up and wait for water to be poured on his hair during bathtime.
-love to blow bubbles with his salivia/make all kinds of sounds with his lips/sucking his thumb and make sounds...dunnoe where he learn this too .. :(
-when blanket thrown on him, noes how to pull it up/down and play peek a boo with mommy/daddy repeatively.

Happy 1st Birthday!!

We took Emre over to LKW for his 1st birthday celebration,yes, just the 3 of us, no guests list, no pressies, no hassle for this lazy mommy.

We flew to LKW on the 5th August 2009, is the first flight experience for Emre, am so glad he fell asleep before the flight took off and only woke up after we land. (good boy!)

Once we reached LKW, we rented a car from the airport and drove our way to Berjaya hotel.
It was a pretty crowded hotel, after checking in, we realized that the chalets was located a good distance away form the hotel lobby and we need to take the shuttle service.

The shuttle service looks abit like those we took in zoo, open spaced and windy when the vehicle moves, emre enjoyed the shuttle rides as he keep very still during the ride to our chalet, looking at the trees and pple around.

Since he still look abit sluggish and tired, i stayed indoor with him while he sleep.
His daddy went out to tabao food for lunch, we pretty much stayed indoor during the first day, only drove out for dinner at the town area in the evening, walking through the pasar malam and tabao some food for dinner.
Back at the resort,we bought Emre his slice of cake from the hotel cafe, sang him birthday song while he cries along (he was sleepy and cranky). Fed him abit of the cheese cake and he doze off almost immediately without having sips of water!

2nd day at LKW, we went for the cable car ride early in the morning, the ride up was abit stuffy and hot due to the morning sun, we alight half way up, and took shots of the scenary. ( it was really windy, we did not anticipate the big wind, and i hugged emre tightly for fear he might fall sick again) We continue the ride up the hill/mountain,took more shots before riding all the way down.It was fun and beautiful having to see the whole of LKW & beyond up at the hill/mountain.Headed back to our chalet since emre still need to rest and he still look tired and sluggish despite having recovered from the fever.
Headed out for dinner at the another area of LKW, had a pretty nice dinner with rice and dishes this 2nd nite, instead of tabaoing, we decided not to bring any more food back to the chalet. Reason being, the first nite whatever we threw in the rubbish bin invited many guests aka red/black big ants!

3rd day was basically just driving ard LKW, we ventured out to tanjong rhu beach, but it was raining, thus we did not actually get to step on the beach, we passed by black sand beach, without stepping on it either cos it was still raining.
We drove to "The Datai" checked out this super expensive and highly rated hotel's lobby/pool. It was pretty secluded and quiet, many of the hotel guests are couples, did not see any kids/babies ard. (since was raved for being a honey moon hotel) It looked and smelled like a SGD800-1k+ per nite kind of hotel.
Next up the list was a hotel called "The Andaman" , we saw kids/babies in this hotel, it was not as crowded/busy like berjaya. We walked to the pool and to the beach, the waves and wind was incrediblely strong.... took some pictures and headed back to our car. If we were to return to LKW, we will like to stay at "The Andaman".
It is definately less crowded than berjaya, the beach are clearer and the pool looks bigger and more fun for kiddos. The staff are dressed in white and the lobby is huge and nice. :)

We are back in SG on the 8th August 2009, Emre still got rashes all over his body till now.
Doctor did mention before, when the fever goes away, rashes will break out. The rashes came on the 6th aug and it still lingering behind till today.
Emre appetite dropped tremedously over the last 2days, not sure if is due to the rashes or his teething, YES he is teething again! two side teeth, not sure what they are called, they will be his 9th and 10th teeth. Just hope he will regained his appetite soon, he is very skinny already, weighing only 7.62kg during the doctor's visit on 3rd august. Definately not meeting the 3x birth weight guidelines!

Wonder if he kenna H1N1 since the symptoms are similiar : H1N1 for babies, fever followed by rashes...hmm...mmmm...

Fever fever go away...

3rd August 2009-4th August 2009

Just 2 days before Emre turns 1yr old, he fell sick.
On the 3rd August morning ard 6+am, i woke him up gently to change his diapers and to drop him off at my mom's place before i head for work. I felt his feverish body and think he might be having a fever, since he do not normally feel so hot in the early morning.

Measured his temperature, 38.5degree was shown on the thermometer, i tot i got it wrongly, thus i measured 3 more times..with readings of 38.5-38.8 degree.
Feeling panicky, i called hubby (who went to fetch the car and to wait for us downstairs) and told him emre is burning a fever.

He came up quickly and showed him the thermometor, took two more measurements and decided to bring him to the doctor. We notified our work place and took cl for the day.
Brought him to the clinic near our place, got to wait till 10+am before his turn (the clinic was really packed with apptmts even on a monday morning)
Doctor say it is a viral fever may persists from 3days-1 wk time,seek for her advice on travelling in 2days time, she adviced no problem to travel due to the short flight, however, should keep him indoor if travelling and that will probably spoilt our holidays. oh well, i told hubby we shall see how his condition goes for the next 2 days.

During the day, emre fever susided with each feed of medicine, controlled his temperature ard 37.5-38 degree.
The very night, emre burns up to 40degree, whole nite i couldnt sleep, as i keep to the 4hourly feeding of his medicine as well as sponging his body wherever i can, this little one is not a fan of sponging.
Every part of his body feels so hot, i woke his dad up ard 5+am to ask if we should send him to KKH. We decided to go, thus we changed and was about to leave when i told hubby, maybe we should monitor further, since if we go KKH, they might just give the same medicine and sponge him. (fickle minded mommy here)

Sms some mommies for their advice and decided to stay home and took another day of CL to take care of my boy. Mom came over to help out as i did not sleep the nite before, i catch a short nap when mom came over. Emre's fever was abit better, as he did not hit the 40 degree, i called back to the same clinic and asked if i should bring him back since he is burning up and down. The nurse was very kind to check with the doc and return call to say normally when baby got fever, it is normal for them to burn up and down, just got to make sure he take his medicine timely to keep his temperature near 37.4degree.
Asked hubby to call and cancel the trip as am afraid emre will burn high up again in the night and i do not want to be out of sg if that happens.
Hubby checked and say can cancel but must pay all flight & hotel in full, since he was not able to make the trip any other time in mth of august. Thus, we decided to see how our little boy's condition is before making the decision, we were prepared to pay in full should we not be able to go anyway.

5th August 2009

Emre went through the night with no spike in his temperature, in fact he was free of fever in the early morning at about 5+am..thus we decided to go ahead with the trip.

PS. Emre still teething amidst all these fun times, upcoming are his 7th and 8th lower teeth..poor boy boy..

10mths+++ old...

Time really flies, just few mths before he was an innocent bundle of joy with only voice vocals to let us noe when he is hungry/sleepy.

These days he is a little wiggling worm with ever active hands and legs to touch this, kick that, bite here, scream there. :)

When Grandma ask him in teochew "huay leh?" aka where's the light?

He will auto look up to the ceiling to show with his eyes where the light is..then look down at his grandma and grin at her, sorta telling her there it is...me clever right? :P

When i look at him these days, i feel that my little baby have grown to be a big boy liao.. *not in size though*

PS.he finally started to crawl forward few days before he turned 10mths...late better than never!! :)

Fallen angel

Emre had a bad fall last nite, the fall was so bad that he bleed from his mouth...
what happen was..he was placed seated beside me on our sofa, his mommy busy watching tv and shaking his milk, was not watching this little angel...
Thus , this little angel somehow was playing with the pillow and push the pillow to the ground and follow suit.
I saw the pillow falling, and next thing i see my little angel falling as well, he went head first onto the ground *ouch* that must really hurt badly since after a second of silence, all hell break loose with the little angel screaming in excruciating pain.
i quickly picked him up *after a second pause of considering cheonging to take picture of his landing position* and sayang him..he cried loudly and badly, i rubbed his forehead since i saw his forehead on the ground first, then i saw blood on both of my arms..i tot, eh, where did the blood come from..i check little angel's face and saw that his whole mouth filled with blood, and his salivia drooling was bloody as well.
*panic button on* i quickly went to fetch some water and attempt to feed him with water, he refused after one spoonful and continue with his wailings, then i tried to feed him his milk *being his feeding time* he gulped down the milk and continue to cry after he finished.
actor lah my angel, like to exaggerate his pain.. i used handkerchief to curb his bleeding from his upper inner lips, he flinch and protest with more loud wailings... finally bo bian, just stood by the window, let him see the roads and cars, then he kept quiet and back to his curious cat mode.
Comtemplating as to whether to call his daddy, saw his bleeding not stopping anytime soon, thus just call and activate another panicky human. He immediately flew home and say to bring his little angel to KK for x-ray, i told him no need, since by the time he reach home, little angel bleeding had ceased and he is back to his normal self. Other than bleeding from the upper inner lips, his nose was reddish ard the nostril, no redness/bump at the forehead though.
Daddy still insist on gg to the doc just to have some assurrance, so we went. At the clinic, emre was back to his active/curiousity mode, waited for a long while before daddy say no need to see doc liao...so we went home without seeing the doc.

Emre fell into deep sleep upon reaching home , guess he must be tired from all the cryings and commotions he made. :P

We stood by his cot and watch him sleep with a tiny smile as per usual, Daddy then look at me and say " next time dun place him on the sofa and watch tv without watching him"

Teething pains...*ouch*

On the 18th May, we brought Emre for his nine mth++ assessment, he passed his hearing test but sorta "failed" in his weight. He weigh only 7.05kg at 9mths+, which as per usual falls below the average percentile for baby boys his age. Nurse at the polyclinic say " bo bian, like mother, small size."

After the assessment, thought of bringing him to the cck sport complex for a swim, unfortunately the place closed on mondays and my dear little son fell asleep on the way. Thus, we head back home. Felt his gum when playing with him inside the car, noe that he is cutting his 5th and 6th teeth on the upper gum...tat explains his crankiness for the past few days!! :(

Yesterday nite my little darling was in such cranky mood due to his teeth cutting through, we were not able to cajole him to sleep almost till wee hrs in the morning. He was very active, and abit vampirish..as he kept bitting and sinking his teeth into everything at sight. This include his mommy and daddy, I got a few bruises from his bites on my arms, tummy and shoulder.. :(
He really use all his might when he bites, thus his right thumb got a very deep wound due to this .*yes he bite his own thumb till it open wound can be seen, poor boy*
He manage to pull himself from tummy lying position to sitting position and even push himself up to a standing position and even tried to let go of his support to try stand handsfree!! Not sure if is due to his itch/pain from the new teeth coming through, he was very active and doing all the above positions repeatedly, if he fell from standing, he will try again and again and again. I told emre, "Dun be too ambitious, u have not learnt how to crawl forward, dun "gei kiang" wanna try to stand loh," but this fell on deaf ears as he keep trying to stand and cruise ard the edge of the bed. :(

Hope to get a good nite rest tonite, ytd nite was probably a sleepless and tiring nite for me as much as it was for the little one.

So we gathered a few other kids and went to kind Matthew and his wife place at pungol.

Beached out..

Emre first beach outing was not to east coast beach nor sentosa beach, it was to desaru beach in malaysia.
It was a long wkend being the labour day holiday on the 1st May, thus daddy decide to drive up to desaru and malacca for a super short getaway.

Slapped on some sunscreen and bathing suit, off we went straight to the beach upon arrival.

Hoping emre will love beaches as much as his daddy and mommy.

Alas, he was afraid of the sand, wave and seawater.. :(

He clinged on so tightly and refused to sit on the sand, we tried for a few more times before we gave up and head for the swimming pool instead.

Got to soak up some sun and water, emre enjoy the pool much more than the beach though.

More beach outings to come for my little prince.. :)

Over the longwkend due to Easter Friday, we decided to bring Emre for his 1st swim in the normal swimming pool. Thus, we rang up our nice frd to borrow her condo's pool and hop over in the early morning ard 11am+. Under the bright hot sun, without applying any sunblock on Emre nor wore any waterproof diapers...hoping he will not want to poo while in the water, he was guided to the pool by nice patient Aunty Sancher, going slow with him for fear that he might be afraid of the cold blue water.

Step by step, Aunty Sancher warmed Emre close to the pool and when he reaches his daddy's arm and warm chest, he was not afraid of the cold water nor the depth of it, he relaxes quite quickly and began his wild strong kicks beneath the water.

Was truely a joy seeing him so excited kicking in the water with no cries at all, *oops,correction* only cries when we decide to hook a neck float ard his neck, think he does like find it very comfortable.

Thus, he is happy to be sitting on his ultraman's float biting on the steering wheel or floating ard in his daddy's arm. Just a short 15mins dip in the pool made him thristy as he sips away on his mag mag after the swim. Not tired, he was still "talking" to strangers when Aunty Sancher's maid took him ard for a stroll.Active little boy...

We went buffet dinner with Christine and gang on the same day, while Christine's little angel was snoozing away, my little boy was busy disturbing our dinner with his cries to be walked ard as he wanna kpo and check out the place, not a sigh of tiredness from this boy as he tries to "ka jiao"

Emre goes : "Em ..emmmm..."

Pulls Cayden hair again, look for reaction from Cayden and the "conversation" goes on...till Cayden complaint to his daddy, while Emre chuckle away.

Was fun watching them..haha.. :)

As expected, little Emre fell deep into lalaland after his shower when we reach home ard 9+pm.

Sophie the giraffe..

Recently we bought a BPA free teether for emre, he seems to enjoy chewing on it much more than the previous two teether which we got for him.
This is Sophie, his new friend, think she is BPA free and quite an expensive teether from the states. Was told many super stars bought this teether for their babies, is made of natural rubber and is safe for many yrs, with no recall of the product ever. Thus, i tot it will make a great soother for emre with his teething pains.. :)
Think is worth the price so far..

Upper front teeth part 2...

Ytd nite while struggling to cut emre's fingernails, saw that his upper 2nd tooth coming out of his gums..dunnoe if this is normal, but then got my mom to start him on brushing his "teeth" x 4 in all and gums from this morning onwards...Good habits have to start early so they say...

No sign of him sitting up on his own or crawling yet, just teeth and more teeth coming out of his gums, bet is due to his greediness to wanna chomp up more food which granny, mommy/daddy are eating in front of him.lolz...kinda wierd seeing him with teeth, when we have gotten so used to his "bo gei" smile..



ah...one more teeth on top coming ...

Is it normal for baby to grind their teeth? am wondering if he had kenna his daddy's bad genes of grinding teeth while sleeping...emre grinds his teeth while awake, will have to monitor if he grinds when he sleeps..see when this lazy mommy got time to monitor ba. :P

Sembawang shopping centre..nothing fancy..

Went to the new sembawang shopping centre last sat, heard so much abt it being revamped and big and all , thus decided to drop by and see what is the big hoo ha about.

To our disappointment it seem to be just a bigger version of the bukit panjang plaza, the malls are both by capital land gua..

Not many shop excites us... gaint is there to ensure that the mall might see crowds on sat/sun who will be doing their grocery shopping.

We went to the highest floor and found auston the steak cafe and hong kong cafe. We left in less than an hour's time...

We will probably return when emre can walk and run in the water park at the highest floor of this shopping centre ba, other than that, nothing else attracts us to return to this mall.

Hubby had a mango pudding with emre drooling over ...

Here comes the 3rd teeth...

Sat morning, realized that's a white shadow on the upper front gum, felt it and it was sharp and poking, think is the arrival of his 3rd teeth (lower front gum got two liao)... is kinda wierd that this time round it comes single, cos the other time it was two together, wondering if that's the reason why he is back to bubbling his saliva again.

Took Emre for his first mrt ride last sat, think he enjoyed the ride since he was like dumbfounded with a goon goon look throughout..so far he experience most of the public transport liao, bus, LRT, taxi, MRT ... all these rides were taken with mommy only, cos daddy dun take these form of transportation. We went from suntec, to orchard in his stroller. He behaved rather well, as he did not scream to be carried from stroller, instead he was happily sitting inside in an upright position, he did not even want to lie back flat to relax, realised that he is able to seat upright unsupported, but think only in his pram he is able to do that. Since he was toppling all over the place when placed him on bed or his play pen. We went to taka baby fair, din get to buy anything since was with his stroller, quite difficult to maneuver ard with many preggie mommies ard, thus we left after awhile, since his god-parents was not able to meet us at an earlier timing.

Fed him HT brown rice cereal with bottled green peas , he loved it. Yeah! Now i can stocked up these to feed him over the wkend and do not have to cook fresh food for him. lolz. lazy mommy here. He loved avocados as well, grandma fed him some and he asked for more. Good boy! think he is familiar to the taste since mommy drank quite abit of avocado while he is inside mommy's womb.

Midnite cries..

These few nites, Emre been crying out of sudden in the middle of the nite...
Got to pat him afew times before he go back to sleep, wondering if it is due to over-tiredness or over simulation ... make me feel like am back to the nite feeds days...
Hope he will be a good boy and not cry like that for the next few nites, otherwise mama J will accumulate darker eye circles and puffier eye bags... :(

7 months old!

Today marked Emre's 7mths old, trying to recall what his milestones are so far...

-flip and unflip himself.
-eheheh for milk and everything else.
-scratch at all things reachable.
-suck his fingers and toes!!
-pull his mommy's hair or whoever that carries him with hair to pull... *faint*
-smile/chuckle at people who talk to him
-"talk" to pple who are not talking to him (interupt with eheheh when person carrying him talking to other pple.)
-flower leg & revolting eyes (once out of hse, he happy and curious abt the world ard him).
- kick his legs and sulk his face and voice his protest if he dun like to be placed in stroller/car seat/carry position not comfortable.
-swallow cereal and porridge with veggies
-"hold" his own milk bottle/sippy cup.. (in a way lah..not exactly holding all by himself,keke).
- two teeth growing longer each day on his lower gum.
-swim on his tummy with legs kicking and hands flinging ard (machiam swimming on dry land)
-practice his vocals every morning, afternoon and nite.
- will "ask" mommy/daddy/grandma to sing songs before he sleep.
- sleep through the nite since 3mths? (cannot rem exactly when he started to sleep through)
-burp on his own.. * still regurgitate milk out at times*
-yawn and rub his eyes when sleepy..*smetimes scratch his own face in process*

tat's abt all ba... will add more when i recall more ba.. :)

so fast 7mths liao, still hope time will past slowly cos i dun want to see my little baby become little boy too soon.. :P

Over the long wkend..

Took CL on friday cos hubby went genting for his biz trip, thus spent the day taking care of my little one. Initially tot will be able to drop by Natas fair and baby fair to see see look look..in the end din make it cos of some family issues. :(

Anyhows, had a good wkend with mom, since asked mom over to accompany me with hubby away. Felt bad that, usually when hubby not at home, then can ask my momto stay over. Haiz...is another family thingy taboo.

Emre's teeth are getting longer, wondering if these few days of crankiness have smthg to do with this, he keep rubbing his ears and scratching his hair, so cutee to see him doing that.

He still cant crawl, swimming on his tummy is his fav past time now. Having buffet with right and left hands are on the menu too.

On saturday we went to chalet at aranda country club, my cousin celebrating her day of love with her hubby invited all relatives over.

Emre behaved rather well, letting diff aunties to carry him ard, he got his request though, they must walk ard if they wanna carry him, if they stop, he will protest with intial small whines, then become louder whines if they dun get his message to move.

Managed to feed Emre some purple skin sweet potato (jap version, i think) over the wkend, he prefer the sweet potato over sweet potato porridge...

These days whenever we eat, he will look at us and make some noise like asking to be fed.

Of cos we cannot feed him with the junk food which we are eating (macdonalds)... so i told him next time k..when u turn 2yr old and above, then maybe can take some. he just looked at us with his big eyes and salivia drooling down his lips...what a "tam jia" little boy. haha..

Whinny Emre..

Recently, emre been whinning and screaming alot. Whenever we leave him in the play pen or his cot, he will cry and whine when he see us leaving to do other things eg. bathing/eating.

He will smile and be contented when he can see us, not sure why. Maybe he just want us to be ard him and watch him play ? Maybe his teeth is protuding and causing this crankiness? Dressing him up after his bath could be a challenge at times...cos he will cry in complain(without tears) as i dressed him...kick his leg and lift his bum to protest..(quite difficult to wear his pampers and apply nappy cream when he do that). Guess i havent been in a good mood to console him or cajole him when he throw his tantrums, been bothered by some family matters.

Still seeing his smile after each tantrums are priceless..lolz. :)

Teething...

On satuarday morning, while playing with emre, i suddenly noticed he has got two new teeth protuding out of his gums.

So surprised to find him teething as he did not show any signs which i was told to look out for when baby are teething.

ie. reject milk/running a temperature/not able to sleep through the nite properly/constant crying etc... none of these signs and symptons happened to my little emre.*yet**crossed fingers*

All he did was chew on everything he can get his hands on or use his tongue to go through his two teeth or suck his thumb to soothe himself..

What more can a mom ask for ? :)

I feel so blessed!!
